On December 22nd, Food on the Stove had our 2nd Local Food for Local Heroes Dinner @ Engine 15 located in the Historic Anacostia Neighborhood. We had the privilege of serving the members of Engine 15, Rescue Squad 3, Battalion Fire Chief 3 and EMS 3/Platoon 2.

The 3-course dinner was prepared and served by the amazing Chef Brazil Murphy of Spyce Co. (www.spyceco.com) along with DCFD’s own Shanita Johnson of Sassycakes of DC making local Sweet Potato Pound Cake for dessert.  The menu consisted of:

1st Course
Mixed Green Salad topped
w/ Flank Steak & Blackberry Balsamic Vinaigrette

2nd Course
Chipotle Maple Glazed Salmon w/ Cauliflower Mash Potatoes & Roasted Butternut Squash w/ Cranberries

3rd Course
Sweet Potato Pound Cake
from Sassy Cakes of DC
